Sponsored by the December Events Committee, an ad-hoc committee
of the Cuero Development Corporation (CDC)
The December Events Committee is now selling scenes for the 2016 Christmas in the Park year. Scene discounts are now being offered through mid-March. If you are interested in purchasing a scene, please contact Samantha or Jo Ann at 361-275-8178.
Cuero's Christmas in the Park has just concluded another enormously successful year and the December Events Committee (an ad-hoc committee of the Cuero Development Corporation) is already preparing for the 2016-2017 season -- but, we need your help!
Regular meetings of the DEC Board take place the third Wednesday of each month and last no more than an hour. We invite all who would like to attend to do so. If you are unable to attend but would like to contribute your input, please feel free post your comments and suggestions on our official Facebook page, or contact CDC Administrative Assistant Samantha Solis at 361-275-8178 or firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will collect any feedback for our Board's review.
Our next regular meeting is Wednesday, February 17th at 5:30 PM at the Cuero Library.
Open nightly the Monday before Thanksgiving through New Year's Day, 6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m., in Cuero Municipal Park, U.S. Hwy. 87 S. (Broadway).
Directions: If coming from Victoria, go past the Park Entrance and turn left between H-E-B and TDECU; if coming from the west, turn right between H-E-B and TDECU; follow the signs to the Park Entrance.
Christmas in Cuero began in 2000 with lighting of the Gazebo in the Cuero Municipal Park. It has grown to over 130 displays of Victorian, Western, Train, Gingerbread House and other scenes. Highlights are the 17-piece Nativity on the Lake Island, the 85-foot Paddlewheel Boat, “Sassy” the Sea Serpent, “Peace on Earth” Globe, the 30-foot U.S. flag and Penguins. Santa and his reindeer fly over Lakeview Knoll while his elves are busy with gifts in other scenes. Watch Old Man Winter make snowflakes and Santa wish all a good night!
Look for the Christmas in the Park Arch at the entrance, the Twelve Days of Christmas, and the Lighthouse on the Lake's pier.
The drive through the Municipal Park is a self-guided tour with Seasonal Cutouts and Nutcrackers showing the way. Donations are accepted at the end of the tour.
